Common Name: Mimic Tang

Habitat: Indo-Pacific; from the seychelles to Japan, the Society Islands, the Marquesas and Tuamotu.

Size: 25cm

Temperature: 22° - 27°C (72° - 81°F)

Water Chemistry: pH: 7.8 to 8.5, hard - very hard.

Food: Not usually a picky fish, the mimic tang eats brine shrimp, blood worm and a good quality flake, but some individuals will require nori, blanched spinach/lettuce/cabbage and other green matter as well as live adult brine as they can sometimes be rather stubborn with feeding.

Difficulty: 3 Stars (moderate)

Notes: In most cases can be kept satisfactorily in a reef system. Generally peaceful towards other tank mates, and several juveniles may be kept in relative peace albeit upon nearing maturity, become incompatible.
