Black Lancer Catfish

Latin Name: Bagrichthys hypselopterus

Common Name: Black Lancer Catfish

Habitat: Palembang, Sumatra

Sex: Males are taller in appearance and have more pointed fin configurations while females are narrower with more rounded fins.

Size: 16 inches (40 cm)

Temperature: 20° - 25°C (72° - 77°F)

Water Chemistry: pH: 6.5-8, soft.

Food: An omnivorous species enjoying live earthworms and bloodworms and accepting various pellet foods also.

Difficulty: 2 Star (Easy)

Notes: A large growing but peaceful fish although care is advised with smaller fish. A fish that should be kept singularly and seems to shy away from heavy water current areas, so while a good filtration system is required, heavy water flow is not.
